The Durbanville Forum was established through pastors from the various denominations around Durbanville meeting up and building relationships over a number of years.
In 2014 this group of pastors joined the Durbanville Moedergemeente’s drive, called the “Good and Beautiful Community”, which resulted in a D4J (Durbanville For Jesus) Campaign. Eventually it was decided to permanently replace the Durbanville Forum with D4J, which encompasses any local church dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and is therefore designed to bring about unity in the Body of Christ in Durbanville.
The declaration in the name is simply that we, as a community in Durbanville, stand for Jesus, His Kingdom and His purposes. We celebrate His Presence and His Kingdom in Durbanville and agree to worship and praise His name openly for what He has done for us.
The light bulb symbolises that we believe God wants us, as a community of believers in Durbanville, to arise and shine in His glory!
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Isaiah 60:1-3 (NKJV)
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Once again El Shaddai Christian Church will be hosting the D4 10 Days of Prayer, open to all churches in our community for 10 days of continuous prayer. 18 local churches will be participating this year as well as a church from Muldersdrift as we are no longer limited to one prayer room in Durbanville.
Lockdown has caused us to think beyond a single prayer room! We will be doing things a little differently. From one prayer room in the past – to your own prayer hub / chair / spot in your homes.
We invite you, your family, children, teens, friends, cell group, neighbours….everyone!
Each church taking place will get 24 hours to fill, in one-hour slots. We’d love multiple people praying in any given hour.
This year you will pray in your home. We encourage you to set up a prayer corner or space where you can have your prayer experience. Settle in and enjoy your prayer hour. Have a copy of Isaiah 58:6-14 ready and come expectant.
Visit our signup page at https://bit.ly/361aN4O and select your church and you will then be able to select a prayer slot. As soon as we go live with the 10 Days of prayer we will share a link which will walk you through your hour of prayer.

We go live at midnight as we cross over to Thursday, 21 May 2020 and you will then be able to access this video to guide you through your hour.
