Who we are

We are a community united by our love for Jesus, dedicated to nurturing positive change within our neighbourhood. Our gatherings are a blend of fellowship and feasting, prayer, and mutual encouragement as we pursue our distinct callings and ministries within the city.

Our History
D4J originated from the camaraderie amongst pastors from diverse denominations in Durbanville, cultivated over several years. In 2014, these pastors aligned with Durbanville Moedergemeente’s initiative, the “Good and Beautiful Community,” birthing the D4J (Durbanville For Jesus) Campaign.

D4J is born
This led to the transformation of the Durbanville Forum into D4J, a movement embracing any local church committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, aimed at fostering unity among Christ’s followers in Durbanville. The vision expanded to include individuals passionate about making a positive impact across various sectors of our region, including the arts, media, government, business, education, social justice, science, and sports.

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

Isaiah 60:1-3 (NKJV)

Monthly meetings

Our monthly gatherings take place at Oakhill, consistently scheduled for the first Tuesday from 12pm until 2pm. These sessions commence with our core leaders, who rotate monthly, providing insights and sharing stories that resonate with our hearts and reflect our values. This is succeeded by the highlight of our gatherings: a lovely meal and meaningful time spent together.

“Relationship first” is more than a motto for us; it serves as our foundational principle. We prioritize genuine connections over mere formalities. Moreover, it’s not solely about the monthly meetings; the real magic transpires in the moments in between.

Ideas are exchanged and bonds are strengthened within our diverse community, encompassing individuals from various likeminded groups including Pastors, Worship Leaders, Children’s Ministry leaders, Social Justice advocates, and Non-Profit Organizations, among others.

We look forward to meeting you.

Frequently asked questions

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16
