10 DAYS OF PRAYER : Virtual Prayer Room

10 Days of Continuous Prayer for Durbanville and Beyond.
From one prayer room to hundreds of prayer hubs in homes!

Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and every thought that is within you. This is the greatest & supreme commandment. And the second is like it in importance:  You must love your friend in the same way you love yourself.’

This year as a result of lock down, and still not being advisable to gather in small spaces –  you will have a “virtual” prayer hub in your home!
In fact as a result of this virtual prayer room, we have churches joining us from different parts of SA & individuals praying around the world.

Once again ESCC will be hosting the D4 10 Days of Prayer, open to all churches in our community & beyond for 10 days of continuous prayer.
16 local churches will be participating this year as well as churches from other areas as we are no longer limited to one prayer room in Durbanville.
Lock down has caused us to think beyond a single prayer room!  We will be doing things a little differently!  From one prayer room to your prayer hub/ chair/spot in your homes.

You, your family including your children and teens, friends, your cell group, your neighbours …. EVERYONE!  Invite anyone to join in.

Each church taking part will get 24 hours to fill, in one-hour slots.  We’d love multiple people praying in any given hour.
If you are part of another D4 church, contact your church to find out what day they are hosting.
Claim your hour and sign up.  OR – pray on any day or at any time that you want.  Everyone is welcome at any time.

In your home, a coffee shop, out in nature, with your cell family – wherever you choose!  Settle in and enjoy your prayer hour. Have a copy of the printable guidelines and your phone/ pad/ computer ready.

More details?
We will be adding a link to this page nearer the time that will give you access to The Virtual Prayer Room. This will give you prayer topics and ideas to pray – just as though you were walking through our prayer room!  The hour will be divided into sections.  Each section will have  a few minutes input – then press pause &  pray.  (We are doing it this way to ensure it doesn’t use too much of your data).

The Durbanville Forum was established through pastors from the various denominations around Durbanville meeting up and building relationships over a number of years.

In 2014 this group of pastors joined the Durbanville Moedergemeente’s drive, called the “Good and Beautiful Community”, which resulted in a D4J (Durbanville For Jesus) Campaign. Eventually it was decided to permanently replace the Durbanville Forum with D4J, which encompasses any local church dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and is therefore designed to bring about unity in the Body of Christ in Durbanville.

The declaration in the name is simply that we, as a community in Durbanville, stand for Jesus, His Kingdom and His purposes. We celebrate His Presence and His Kingdom in Durbanville and agree to worship and praise His name openly for what He has done for us.

The light bulb symbolises that we believe God wants us, as a community of believers in Durbanville, to arise and shine in His glory!

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

Isaiah 60:1-3 (NKJV)

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
